Mike was adopted as an infant, and was blessed to have a loving and permanent family. Mike’s interest in fighting for equity of access to resources is partially a result of his adoptive childhood. His discovery of his birth family later in life inspired an awareness of how access to opportunities is tied to childhood circumstances. That awareness created a commitment to ensuring that all kids, especially those in under-served communities, have access to the programs that will help them to be successful.
